About Chef Mario
Chef Mario began cooking at a very young age, learning along side his family. "Being in a large Italian family, we cooked quite a bit, so I learned the classic Italian ways of the kitchen very fast" Says Chef Mario. His father had a passion for making wood-oven pizza in their pizza oven and Mario got the oppritunity to learn first hand everything that was involved, from making the dough from scratch to crafting the perfect sauce to selecting the best cheeses and ingredients available.
Chef Mario's passion for cooking continued and he decided to follow that passion to culinary school and was awarded an internship in Rome, Italy. After studying in Rome, his vision was clear, he knew that he wanted to open a restaurant but he didn't know where to start. After a few talks with his father and some prayer, it finally came to him, There was a void for an authentic wood-oven pizzeria in the area. With some guidance from his father, and a vision to create a restaurant that embraced nostalgic recipes, there began Pizza Nostalgia.
But there’s more to it than meets the eye when you’re going for pizza... If it doesn’t come out of a wood-fired oven, it's not authentic. If the ingredients come out of a freezer, then they're definitely not fresh! You won’t find any of that at Nostalgia Wood Fired Oven, we are really “A family experience, no production, just hand-tossed quality!”
If you're feeling more than just pizza, we have taken our fresh, authentic approach on pizza and applied that to so many other classic dishes. Whether it's fresh pasta with our homemade sauces or our rustic salads crafted with the freshest produce available; we have something for everyone!
I hope that you enjoy your experience.
